Family Fund supports families living across the UK who are who are raising a disabled or seriously ill child or young person up to the age of 17. Our support is focused on those on low incomes with a child/children who have a high level of additional support needs.
At Family Fund, we believe that all families raising disabled or seriously ill children and young people should have the same choices, quality of life, opportunities and aspirations as other families.
Children Today helps provide specialised equipment for children and young people with disabilities throughout the UK. The aim is to ensure that every disabled child and young person fulfils their potential and leads an active childhood.
We believe the provision of specialised equipment has a direct and immediate impact on a child’s quality of life and independence, and is vital in helping them to overcome obstacles and achieve their potential. Equipment can include wheelchairs, walking frames, tricycles and other mobility aids along with multi-sensory equipment.
The Access Fund is a grant to help disabled children and young people to participate in activities in their local community. This can be any daytime, evening or weekend activity that the child or young person enjoys whilst their parent/carer has a break from caring. The Access Fund seeks to support children and young people to take part in inclusive activities alongside their non- disabled peers.
Max Card is issued by North East Local Authority specialist teams to children in care, and children and young people with additional needs.
Max Card offers these children and their families or carers free or discounted entry into many museums, galleries and heritage attractions across the North East.

Rays of Sunshine Children's Charity exists to grant the wishes of children who are living with serious or life-threatening illnesses between the ages of 3-18 who live in the United Kingdom.
Our dedicated wish team responds to all wish applications within two weeks. We do not operate a waiting list, but give every wish our immediate attention.

Disability North is a registered charity (no. 514733) promoting inclusion, independence and choice for disabled people and their families by providing information, advice and support on any aspect of disability. Services are also provided for students or professionals working in the statutory, voluntary and the public sector.
We provide a safe and stimulating environment for children's learning and development. The setting implements the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and ensures all children have equal access and opportunity to actively learn and develop. Outdoor access is available all year round to extend experiences. Clowning Around provides an Ofsted registered Breakfast, After School & Holiday Club at Ravenswood Play Centre for children who attend Ravenswood Primary School. We provide fun and affordable childcare delivered in a safe and supervised environment. Our qualified staff are DBS checked to an enhanced level, first aid qualified and are experienced in and passionate about the activities they offer.
SportNE Activity Camps is an Ofsted Registered Childcare which provides multi sports activities alongside crafts and challenges for 3-11 year olds.
Led by well qualified enthusiastic staff offering children the chance to learn new skills, try out new activities and build confidence and friendship through our structured activities. The camps run in all school holidays.

Children come to us for 1 hour 15 minute sessions twice a week, during which time they participate in interactive maths and literacy courses that are tailored to their needs and mapped to the National Curriculum. The centre acts as a positive, fun learning environment and concentrates on improving the child’s confidence and self esteem so that they can reach their full potential. Following this they can play with other children in ‘Surf Club’ with board games, interactive activities, arts and crafts, quizzes and challenges.
Heaton Community Centre is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation 1161406. We offer full day care places, a Nursery, an Out of School Club with Holiday Play Scheme, Onsite and Offsite Crèche Services.
We follow Early Years Foundation Stage led by children’s interests and development. We are part of Sure Start East and link families into Sure Start services. We consult with parents and complete online learning journals to track progress. Healthy snacks are included in both our childcare services and our stay and play sessions.
Butterflies and Bugs Great Park Limited is an out of school club offering high quality after school care and Holiday clubs. During term time we collect children in Year 2-4 from Brunton First School & care for children Reception-year 4 in Holiday Club.
We provide breakfast club and after school club for children aged three years plus as well as a holiday club at this venue!
Holiday club is open 8:00am-5:50pm for children aged three years plus.
We can offer additional 15 hours funded childcare within our out of school club services as well as within our preschool service.
We are a holiday club based in the hall at St Catherine's RC Primary School, Sandyford.
The club is open most school holidays from 8am till 6pm, Monday to Friday. It is registered for 45 children aged 3-11 years.

A travelling multi-sensory resource for children with disabilities, their families and friends. Activities include music, storytelling and creative play. Sensory Spaces appears at festivals and family events in the region.

The Lawnmowers is a producing theatre-arts company run by and for people with learning difficulties and operating in Gateshead and the surrounding regions. Our groups are for disabled children/young people alongside their non disabled peers. If you have a different art interest e.g. circus, drama, pottery, poetry - we can meet up and try to find a group that suits you.
