Westgate Community College provides a wide range of community education courses. Each year we provide courses across around 40 subjects involving 700 part-time students.

Facilitating creative and vocational opportunities
Flow is committed to facilitating, promoting and enhancing the future for young adults with additional needs. We wish to engage young people in creative and vocational opportunities to develop their skills and self-esteem in order for them to play a purposeful role within the community.

We provide supported work placements to people who have learning difficulties, mental health problems, or both. We aim to empower people with the skills and experience that only real working environments can give:

Our voluntary placements help to increase self confidence in the work place and beyond, improve self esteem and reduce social isolation.

Liberdade provide performing arts and health and well-being courses for adults with learning disabilities and autism. Activities are run from Gosforth Civic Theatre
Our arts and health activities can be part of a study programme for post-16 SEN students. They can also be an alternative to social and further education for students leaving college.

Enable young people with SEN the opportunity to access activities which support and encompass Recovery & Mental Health Awareness.

The Care Farming Programme is for adults with learning disabilities, difficulties and autism. Learn new skills and gain confidence. Work as part of a team in Ouseburn Farm's farmyard, gardens or visitor centre.

Pathways to Working Life
This pathway is for young people with a learning disability and/or difficulty who would like to develop their skills and progress into employment whilst working on core skills such as maths and English along with employment skills. The course will help you with your personal social and economic welfare, and you will receive pastoral support to help you fulfil your aspirations and reach your goals.

Conveniently located on our Rye Hill campus, Newcastle College Day Nursery offers stimulating, safe and nurturing day care.
Places are available now for all children aged 0 to 5 with sessions between 8:15am and 5:15pm from Monday to Friday.
Our highly qualified and motivated staff will educate and care for your child in our lovely home from home environment which boasts an extensive outdoor play area and sensory garden.
Breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack are provided as well as healthy fruit snacks and drinks throughout the day.


We provide a happy stimulating, stable and safe environment where every child feels secure and valued using guidance from the underlying principles of the EYFS.
Riverview Kindergarden is a not for profit community organisation, based in a purpose built kindergarden facility in the West End of Newcastle. It is easy accessible by car or public transport.

Scotswood Village Nursery is a setting based in the West End of Newcastle, which provides high quality care and early education for children aged 2-4 years.


At St Gabriels we promote learning through play. We feel it is important for children of all ages to be encouraged to explore and develop their own thinking. Developing an inquisitive mind will in turn enable children to become problem solvers to discover and learn at their own pace.
Activities within the nursery are planned with this in mind and the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework.


Whether your child is just six months old or an eager three year old, quiet and shy or confident and rumbustious, a good eater or not, Jesmond Nursery is well prepared and equipped to make the most of his or her individuality.


Free Spirits is a purpose built modular building that is set within the grounds of Freeman Hospital. We have excellent facilities including 6 spacious rooms two garden/ play areas. Children are looked after by caring well qualified and experienced staff who plan play and learning experiences around the needs of each child individually. We follow the EYFS curriculum and ensure that children are given the best possible opportunities to reach their full potential.


One Nation Childcare is a thriving provision for 2 - 5 years olds, that is a "home away from home" for your child. We understand that children develop in their learning when they are given the necessary support, and when they feel emotionally secure. As a result, our staff strive to promote an environment that is warm, friendly and caring to the individual cultural and diverse needs of all children, so they can reach their maximum potential.


We have a fully equipped wet room. Children can attend for 11 hours per week all year around for the FEYE only as well as children who meet the criteria for the 2 year offer (again offered over 11 hours each week). We offer the 30 hours funding and are flexible in our approach to this, tailoring sessions to suit your needs where we can. We work alongside other professionals to offer the best support to the whole family as well as the child, such as, speech and language, family support, health visitors, SENTASS team and community nursery nurses.
