Newcastle School for Boys is the north east region’s only independent school providing education for boys only aged 3 to 18.
Our Junior School on North and West Avenue comprises early years, infants and juniors catering for Nursery, Reception and all the way up to Year 6. Nearby, our Senior School on The Grove houses Years 7 to 11 and our Sixth Form.

A small school of around 400 boys, we know each boy well both as an individual and as a learner. We use these factors to ensure each boy makes the most academic progress possible and achieves as highly as he can.
Westgate Community College provides a wide range of community education courses. Each year we provide courses across around 40 subjects involving 700 part-time students.

If you are struggling with any mental health issues, for whatever reason, we are here to help you.
Our One to One counselling service helps you (as long as you are aged 9 to 25 years old) with your mental health issues. Our friendly counsellors are expertly trained which means we can help you by using a variety of therapy techniques. Whatever the issues affecting your life we are here to help. This includes depression, anxiety, bullying, self-harming, loss and bereavement.

Free cycle training to all who Live, Work or Study in Newcastle.
Learn how to cycle or how to cycle more confidently on or off road. We can help and advise on everything cycling, whether for commuting purposes or just for leisure.
Butterfly Counselling offers a counselling service to children, adolescents, parents/carers, siblings, families and adults who have and are affected by ASD and other neurological difficulties. Butterfly Counselling also offers a counselling service to neurotypical children, adolescents, parents/carers, families and adults. We offer: Individual counselling sessions

A travelling multi-sensory resource for children with disabilities, their families and friends. Activities include music, storytelling and creative play. Sensory Spaces appears at festivals and family events in the region.
Sensory Spaces was set up to address the needs of all children at local events and to encourage families to attend. The aim is to provide a safe, relaxing space where children can listen to music and stories, explore their creativity, dress up, play and have fun.

Samaritans of Tyneside have been in Newcastle-upon-Tyne since 1965 serving the local communities of Newcastle, Gateshead and south-west Northumberland. Now based at 15 Portland Terrace, Jesmond, NE2 1QQ, we are near Jesmond Metro Station and on the B1600. Unfortunately, we are unable to see face to face callers at the Branch right now, but our volunteers are still going in every day to answer the telephone and reply to emails.

Rays of Sunshine Children's Charity exists to grant the wishes of children who are living with serious or life-threatening illnesses between the ages of 3-18 who live in the United Kingdom.
Our dedicated wish team responds to all wish applications within two weeks. We do not operate a waiting list, but give every wish our immediate attention.
With your help they and their families can experience the joy and excitement of doing something they've only ever dreamt of before.

Mentoring service for young people prioritising asylum seekers & refugees aged 16-25 living in Newcastle & surrounding area. The project offers young people a one-to-one mentoring relationship matched with volunteer mentors, which is managed & supervised by staff. It is free and travel and basic refreshment costs are reimbursed.
Oxfam Shops provide an essential source of income for Oxfam's work. In this role you will gain valuable work experience in the area of finance by assisting with the recording and processing of the shop income and/or associated expenditure for all of Oxfam GB's shops. This role is based in our Newcastle Finance Office.
Orchard Care is an organisation with a proven track record that provides successful foster homes for children and young people who need them.
Orchard Care is run on a 'not for profit' basis. This means that all money is put back into the organisation for the good of the children and young people and to maintain very high standards of care and increase service provision.

Northern Learning Trust
Northern Learning Trust provides support for young people, families and adults living in Newcastle. Our work covers Skills for Life, Skills for Work and Family Learning.
Skills for Life
We provide one to one and small group support for individuals who need to improve their reading, writing, numeracy and communication skills.
We work with
Angling 4 All, is an angling club for people with disabilities which provides weekly angling training on a Friday (10am – 2pm) at either Leazes Park in Newcastle or Gateshead Baltic Riverside.
All anglers train on a weekly basis to develop their skills to then compete in regional competitions.
Anglers have the opportunity to fish in the domains of game fishing, sea fishing and coarse fishing. Angling 4 All offers members structured activities, that are educational, fulfilling, and raise the self-esteem and confidence of people.

The Barnardo’s Wellness Recovery Project offers free, person-centred 1-2-1 counselling for women and children (including families) across Northumbria who have been victims of, and witnessed, domestic abuse. The project is based in Jesmond at the Barnardo’s Orchard Mosaic offices but we also offer outreach support in schools and the local community where appropriate.
Referrals for counselling can be made by any professionals and self-referrals are also accepted.

Our group is focused on providing sessions for all children under 5 and their parents or grandparents which gives an opportunity to borrow toys from our Toy Library loan service.

NAPI provides a support service for all parent and toddler groups across the city. To do this, support workers visit on a regular basis, newsletters are circulated termly and resources are provided.
The organisation supports local parents to set up groups in their own area.
A citywide list of parent and toddler groups is continually updated and made available to the Newcastle Support Directory, parents and professionals involved in signposting parents to groups.

Our group offers a wide range of activities which are suitable for children under 4's including

A parent and toddler group is a welcoming and friendly group of adults, mothers, fathers, childminders or carers that come together with their children who are under the age of 5 in their own community. They offer play opportunities for children from birth to 5-year-old, as well as an opportunity to mix with others. They offer support to adults and a break from the normal routines of the day. Booking maybe required at some groups.
We offer music / song time.
A programme of engagement and events bringing together cross-sector businesses, education and youth providers across the city and wider region to deliver real life careers advice, insight and inspiration whilst raising aspiration and ambition across our workforce of tomorrow.
All NE1 CAN events are free to attend and hosted either on business premises, within a conference centre or delivered digitally using Zoom and Teams platforms, please check each individual event to confirm the delivery platform.
