ICS NENC Mental Health Evidence and Evaluation Workshop

The ICS Mental Health Evidence and Evaluation Group has been in place since 2018. The group has brought together colleagues from a number of organisations including, for example, NHS and VCSE providers, experts by experience, public health, NHS England Clinical Network, universities, Academic Health Science Network for the North East and North Cumbria (AHSN NENC), and North of England Commissioning Support, with an interest in evidence, evaluation and research. We have recently completed an independent review of the group activity to inform positive impact and areas that could be improved. As we progress into the next phase of the ICS development, we are keen to engage partners in the planning discussions. This will be enabled by part-time project lead capacity and joint working with the AHSN NENC. As sponsors for the group, we would value your contribution to the workshop.

  • Would you like to find out more about how the North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care System (ICS NENC) are supporting the mental health agenda in the region?
  • Are you interested in mental health and how we develop and share learning from evaluation and research to inform practice and positively influence service development in
  • the region?
  • Do you have ideas about gaps and needs in evidence based practice which would benefit from being evaluated and explored further?
  • Would you like to help us to shape the future vision and processes for mental health and shape plans to identify, implement and share high quality mental health research and evaluation?

About the Children and Young People with Mental Health Needs, Autism or Learning Disability programme (e-learning)

Online resources for staff in acute settings

Healthcare staff in acute care hospital settings have shared that they would like to enhance their confidence and skills to care for children and young people (CYP) with mental health needs, autism or learning disability and their families or carers.

This open access platform is a digital repository, designed to help staff from all professions rapidly access resources to develop their skills and provide them with the tools to improve their confidence. All training resources have been collated, curated or developed to ensure staff can enhance their own clinical skill set, and provide the best possible care to our children and young people.

Dynamic Support Registers (DSR) best practice in North Cumbria and the North East (NCNE) – workshops

A series of themed workshops will be held from April to June 2022 to share the learning from NCNE development of dynamic support registers. These are multi agency workshops for commissioners, managers and leads across health, education and social care, who work with children and young people or adults with a learning disability or autism.

There are five themed workshops looking at principles, guidance and good practice, and some of the challenges and solutions we have experienced.

Sessions will be supported by people with lived experience, and their families. To request a place on any of the sessions please contact england.ncnelda@nhs.net
