Training Opportunity for system wide colleagues that work with children who have or who are suspected to have asthma

The framework divides different roles into 5 ‘tiers’. A tier describes the level of care a person may be expected to deliver to a child or young person with asthma. The more involved the care, the higher the level of tier.

The tiers are not profession specific, but rather describe the minimum required knowledge and skills any individual must possess to safely carry out their role in caring for a child or young person with asthma. Individuals should look at their own role and choose the tier most appropriate to the care they deliver.

Level 1 training provides a fundamental baseline for awareness raising and takes approximately 45 minutes to complete. Please complete the training (registration is required) via the link below.

About the Children and Young People with Mental Health Needs, Autism or Learning Disability programme (e-learning)

Online resources for staff in acute settings

Healthcare staff in acute care hospital settings have shared that they would like to enhance their confidence and skills to care for children and young people (CYP) with mental health needs, autism or learning disability and their families or carers.

This open access platform is a digital repository, designed to help staff from all professions rapidly access resources to develop their skills and provide them with the tools to improve their confidence. All training resources have been collated, curated or developed to ensure staff can enhance their own clinical skill set, and provide the best possible care to our children and young people.
