Living in Newcastle with SEND

We are committed to making sure young people have a voice within the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) reforms work. 

As part of our commitment we have worked with Headliners to develop a film about what it is like living in Newcastle with SEND.

This project supported a group of young people from the Bridges School to be trained as young journalists and film makers.  They interviewed other young people, children and parent carers about living in Newcastle with SEND.

The film highlighted a number of issues that young people and their families felt impacted them, and the local authority have created an Improvement Plan based on this.
