Additional Resourced Provision (ARPS)

An ARP is an additionally funded specialist provision based in a mainstream school. It provides teaching and support staff with specialist knowledge, skills and expertise in a particular area of SEND.

A request for a place will be made by the pupil’s school, in consultation with parents, and placement will be subject to a decision made by the local authority. An ARP is an integral part of the school. Pupils will have specialist input from the ARP but will also participate in the wider life of the school with time in mainstream lessons, appropriate to their need.
