This service provides support to people who are currently facing personal difficulties including; Depression, Anxiety, Low self-esteem, Bereavement, family issues, domestic violence, suicide and many others. This service is for Men, Woman and children.

The Decider Skills course looks at ‘big emotions’ and how to deal with them.
It helps children, young people and adults learn to recognize these ‘big emotions’ and gives them ways to manage these thoughts, feelings and behaviors in a positive way.

To improve the emotional, heath and wellbeing through use of creative activities to build self-confidence and self-esteem. Providing strategies that women can use to improve their own emotional wellbeing.
This is aimed at women who are isolated, struggling with their emotional health or wanting to build confidence and make friends.
Referral of Young Person (0-18 years old) Self-referral, referral by a parent, carer, G.P., school or relevant professional.
Single Point of Access (SPA)
The Single Point of Access (SPA) is for young people with a GP in in Newcastle and Gateshead requiring a mental health assessment or intervention.
Referrals will be reviewed and triaged so young people are referred to the right service at the right time for onward assessment and treatment or advice and guidance.

Local charity Children North East are running the SAFE programme, which offers counselling to victims of sexual abuse aged 5 to 18 (
Build self esteem and be more confident, develop resilience and stop self-sabotage, be body confident, love the skin you are in and become more assertive.
The workshops last for 2 hours and you will receive a workbook for your own reflection after each session.
FREE places available but spaces are limited so registration is required. Priority will be given to women in Byker, Walker and Wallsend but all welcome!

The service supports young people living in Newcastle, through a range of projects offering holistic support, information and advice. Public Health School Nurses provide a range of health improvement and health promotion activities including confidential health advice for children and young people, an immunisation programme and assistance to school staff in the delivery of PHSE (personal health and social education).

Tyneside Women’s Health was established in 1985 with the key aim of helping women to improve their mental health and emotional wellbeing.
Tyneside Women’s Health offers a range of interventions for women including drop in sessions, support groups, mental health courses, counselling, and various therapeutic activities such as relaxation. The Nystagmus Network is a registered charity in England and Wales supporting people living with nystagmus. Nystagmus is a complex eye condition, characterised by involuntary movements of the eye. The eyes appear to wobble or flicker from side to side, up and down or round and round. Nystagmus causes impaired vision, affecting the ability to focus, speed and depth perception and facial recognition. At least 1 in 1,000 people are born with nystagmus and many more acquire the condition later in life.

Today, 10 children and young people in the UK will hear the shocking news that they have cancer.
Treatment normally starts immediately, is often given many miles from home and can last for up to three years. Being diagnosed with cancer is a frightening experience and the emotional, practical and financial implications of treatment are intensely challenging for the whole family.

Retina UK is the national charity for families living with inherited retinal dystrophies. We fund research and provide information and support to those affected by inherited sight loss and the professionals who support them.
