Gamblers Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other so that they may solve their common problem and help others do the same.
This site offers various aids for the compulsive gambler including a forum, a chat room, literature and most importantly a meeting finder.
Meetings are the core of Gamblers Anonymous and we have meetings every day of the week throughout England, Wales and Ulster.
Amidst growing concerns around the Cost of Living Crisis, our team began to compile a list of resources and where to find help to share with the Connected Voice staff. As the list grew, we felt it would be helpful to share this information publicly on our website.

A fuel poor household is one which needs to spend more than 10% of its income on all fuel use and to heat its home to an adequate standard of warmth.
Three things that contribute to fuel poverty are: the cost of energy, the energy efficiency of your property and your household income.
At Byker Sands Family Hub we have packs containing items and information that will help you make positive changes in your home. These changes will make your home more energy efficient with the aim of reducing energy bills.
The West End Hub is open Mondays 10am – 4.30pm, Wednesdays 10am – 2pm and Friday 10am – 4.30pm.

At Changing Lives we believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to reach their potential. We are experts in working with people experiencing the most challenging of circumstances, providing holistic support to help people to go on to lead happy, fulfilling lives. We work across four – often interconnected – areas to address the most common causes of social exclusion and long-term deprivation:
- Housing and Homelessness,
- Recovery and Wellbeing,
- Women and Children,
- Employment and Training.
Due to the large volume of people seeking support from us with social housing applications. Riverside Community Health Project have sourced information from Newcastle Homes and created the informational poster attached.
The service is an abstinent based supported housing service and national drug treatment organisation and we offer abstinence based accommodation in Tyneside for those in recovery for substance misuse. Our Supported Housing is delivered in partnership with local housing providers and offers people with substance misuse issues a structured package of support. There are 2 semi-independent houses in Tyneside with a total of 18 beds. The sites are staffed during the day and offered a tailored package of one-to-one care and group work.
Ridley Villas is supported housing that provides help for women who have children, who are living in Newcastle and Gateshead who need support with overcoming issues with drugs or alcohol, or both.

Action on Smoking and Health (ASH) was established in 1971 (20 January) by the Royal College of Physicians. It is a campaigning public health charity that works to eliminate the harm caused by tobacco. We do not attack smokers or condemn smoking. The organisation is headed by the Chief Executive, Deborah Arnott, and governed by a Board of Trustees. The Duke of Gloucester is our patron.
While we aim to be innovative and agenda setting in our work, our policies are always evidence based and follow a dual approach:
A Specialist service for people who's lives are affected by someone else's alcohol or drug use. PROPS can offer one to one work, peer support groups, and training around substance misuse. They also offer carer and family training, respite breaks and an emergency out of hours telephone helpline. PROPS also work with young people 11+ who have been impacted by someone else’s drug or alcohol misuse.
If you know anyone who may be affected by drug or alcohol misuse, please contact us to make a referral or alternatively we would be happy to discuss this further with you.
