We provide one to one and small group support for individuals who need to improve their reading, writing, numeracy and communication skills.

What is The Angelou Centre?
A programme of engagement and events bringing together cross-sector businesses, education and youth providers across the city and wider region to deliver real life careers advice, insight and inspiration whilst raising aspiration and ambition across our workforce of tomorrow.
All NE1 CAN events are free to attend and hosted either on business premises, within a conference centre or delivered digitally using Zoom and Teams platforms, please check each individual event to confirm the delivery platform.
Our nursery will be open for 3-4 year olds and we are currently full with a waiting list for 23-24.

This course is ideal for you whether you have been out of work for a while or recently out of work and would like support to move into employment, self-employment or further training.
Through this 5-week course, you will be supported to increase confidence & motivation and to think about & put a plan in place to help you to move forward and take your next steps.

Newcastle United Foundation are now recruiting for our next Prince’s Trust TEAM programmes, which are due to start Monday 24th April 2023.
Newcastle United Foundation are delivery partners for the Princes Trust and deliver a 12 week full time employability programme to 16 - 25 year olds not already in education, employment or training.

Time to Talk Next Steps is free support for young people in England in this age group with additional needs. It is for young people who are experiencing anxiety, isolation and who have limited or no plans for the future. You may be in school or in college or have finished all education and be unsure how to move forward.
Does the next step in your life feel overwhelming? Are you experiencing some barriers to moving forward? Our aim is to support you with overcoming worries or concerns causing barriers. Let us get you on your path to the future. If you are 16-19 and needing some friendly one to one support to progress in your path to employment or education, we are here to help. You are not alone.

Headliners (UK) is a national youth charity that works to empower young people and young to adults to have a voice through a unique journalism programme. This project is to work young people who are 16-25 from new, emerging and established migrant communities from Tyneside.
Our 12 week part time, NCFE accredited Functional Skills programmes (Level 1 and 2) are the flexible and accessible alternative to the GCSE route, recognised by all employers. Open to ages 16 - 24 years.
YESNE is a youth employment service, funded by the Youth Futures Foundation, that aims to serve neurodivergent individuals living in Tyne & Wear.
Liberdade provide performing arts and health and well-being courses for adults with learning disabilities and autism. We currently have 2 new courses starting in September 2022.
We are Liberdade. Our organisation started in 2003 as an apprenticeship scheme with the aim of enabling a group of people with learning disabilities to set up and run their own physical theatre company.

This is to support ages 16-25 year olds. For North Benwell Families only.
Staff are on hand to offer advice and guidance, help with C.V.’s, applying for online courses, applying to college, applying for benefits and settled status applications too. There are laptops and P.C.'s and printers available to use.
We can also support young people with housing issues, apostils, document identity, opening bank accounts, and navigating the universal credit system.

ELSE is a programme unique to JET, which not only offers indepth ESOL classes around specific employment sectors but is also supported by local employers and organisations with work placement and experience opportunities.
There will be also be support from our National Careers Service advisors to look at all aspects of applying for employment and sessions around Work in UK , what is it like and what will be expected of you, so you are work ready by the end of the course.
