To improve the emotional, heath and wellbeing through use of creative activities to build self-confidence and self-esteem. Providing strategies that women can use to improve their own emotional wellbeing.
This is aimed at women who are isolated, struggling with their emotional health or wanting to build confidence and make friends.
Referral of Young Person (0-18 years old) Self-referral, referral by a parent, carer, G.P., school or relevant professional.
Single Point of Access (SPA)
The Single Point of Access (SPA) is for young people with a GP in in Newcastle and Gateshead requiring a mental health assessment or intervention.
Referrals will be reviewed and triaged so young people are referred to the right service at the right time for onward assessment and treatment or advice and guidance.
Local charity Children North East are running the SAFE programme, which offers counselling to victims of sexual abuse aged 5 to 18 (

The workshops last for 2 hours and you will receive a workbook for your own reflection after each session.

Take part in fun activities decided by your group like stottie making, cake decorations or a bike ride. Raise funds for these group activities through enterprise activities like making and selling items.

For refugees living in the West End of Newcastle Practical help, advice and advocacy are provided through daily drop-in advice sessions, run by WERS’ multi-lingual support worker and trained volunteers.
WERS also offers home visits for those who find it difficult to visit WERS’ offices, a clothing store, where good quality second-hand clothing and household items are offered free of charge and a hardship fund, providing emergency payments to clients in extreme need. Money Matters is the specialist debt advice team within the Newcastle City Council's Active Inclusion Service. They offer debt and budgeting advice to people who live in Newcastle.

They provide low cost loans for new branded white goods, furniture such as beds, mattresses, sofas and sofa beds, pushchairs and prams at fair prices for low income households. Unlike other weekly payment stores, Fair For You do not penalise customers who choose to repay their loan early or charge expensive missed payment fees. The Floating Support team provides structured support to young people aged 16 to 25 years to enable them to successfully manage a tenancy. We work in partnership with agencies across the city including health, social care and education. Everyone has a support plan that is regularly monitored and reviewed to ensure any change in needs are identified and met.
