A course to help parents/carers manage the behaviour of people with learning disabilities and/or autism. It will help you understand their behaviour and ways to support them.

NEAS Newcastle Autism Hubs are a supportive environment for parents and carers of autistic children. Currently these hubs offer:

one-to-one sessions where families can discuss any issues in confidence
-
workshops designed to help parents understand and support their autistic children.
The workshops cover topics such as common misconceptions, differences in autistic children, and practical strategies for everyday life.

For parents/carers of children who are on the diagnostic pathway or post diagnosis of Autism. Children must be living in Newcastle.

As part of the Autism Central programme, Daisy Chain provides a range of in-person learning workshops. These cover many different topics to help support individuals and families.

Jellytots Pre-School work in partnership with Parent and Carers. We provide a safe, caring, creative environment.


The preschool is situated within the Blakelaw and Cowgate Families Matter Community Hub located on Lindfield Avenue nest door to Thomas Walling Primary School. Children have access to a wide range of developmentally appropriate good quality toys and equipment. We have At Home Bags that allow parents/carers to help their children continue their learning in their home environment. Staff are all qualified in Early Years with some staff having qualifications of Level 4 and above.


We provide a warm and friendly environment for children to reach their full potential by offering an extensive variety of play opportunities, covering all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage. Including role play, exploration area, maths area and sand/ water play.


We provide a happy stimulating, stable and safe environment where every child feels secure and valued using guidance from the underlying principles of the EYFS.
Riverview Kindergarden is a not for profit community organisation, based in a purpose built kindergarden facility in the West End of Newcastle. It is easy accessible by car or public transport.

This pre-school playgroup opened in February 2015 for children from 2 years to school age. We are situated in Woodlands Children's Centre, High Heaton, a purpose built children's centre next to Heaton Library and the Spinney. We offer a fun and stimulating environment with superb indoor and outdoor spaces for the children to play. Our staff are enthusiastic and professional with lots of experience of early years childcare. Sessions run 5 days a week


We are located inside Kingston Park Community Centre. We are close to Kingston Park Metro station and shopping centre. We have a large main hall and a lovely all weather outdoor area.
We offer educational childcare for children aged 2 - 4 years.
We encourage outdoor play every session. During outdoor play children learn about the world around them. They are free to explore at their own pace, as well as try out new experiences during planned activities.


We are an OFSTED registered pre-school setting with a Good outcome, based within Fawdon Community Centre offering 2 and 3 year funded places. We are open 21 hours per week so parents can also use a percentage of 30 hour funding with us.
We are open Monday to Friday 9.15am to 12.15pm and also Wednesday and Thursday afternoons from 12.15pm to 3.15pm (term-time only)


Little Learners (NE) are an OFSTED registered setting in The Blakelaw Centre which opened in September 2019 following the success of our preschool in Fawdon
We offer 15 hour funded places for pre-school children. We offer fun-filled days in a large setting with outdoor play area under the care of qualified staff


Plantpots Playgroup/Preschool is an Ofsted registered nursery for children aged 2-5 years. Based at the Great Park Community Centre in Gosforth we are both Montessori-inspired and encourage children to learn through play with an emphasis on freeflow outdoor play.
We are open from 9am-3pm, Monday to Friday, term time only, and offer wrap around care from 8-9am (breakfast included)


St Martin's Centre Nursery offers high quality care and education and a wide range of exciting and challenging play opportunities to help each child learn and develop to their full potential.
The nursery operates during term time, offering flexible sessions between the hours of 8.45am and 3.30pm to children aged 2 to 5 years.
We are delighted to report our recent Ofsted inspection rated us 'good' with outstanding features.


We provide Early years foundation stage education to children age 2 to school starting age. We are a friendly, easily accessible setting who accept children of all abilities and cultures.
We provide a safe and fun environment where children thrive and prepare for their next transition.
Our sessions are 8.00-11.15am and 12.15-3.30pm - we offer a flexible drop off/pick up from 8.00-8.45am and 2.45-3.30pm. We also offer lunch cover on all four days to which funded entitlement can be used.


We are based within the Denton and Westerhope Sure Start Building. We have an enclosed part-covered outdoor area, with bikes, sand, water, prams etc and an enclosed outdoor area at the front of the building with a mud kitchen plus a grassed area with a pirate boat, steering sit on frame, slide and picnic benches. We have a wide range of equipment indoors to help meet children’s needs and help them to develop to their best protentional by following the EYFS, including soft play equipment and a smart board.

Bright Minds @ Mountfield has a vibrant atmosphere, a child directed environment and a huge range of activities that children can choose to play. Children are happy and have a say in the way in which the setting is run.


We are a NOT-for-PROFIT group keeping our fees low. We offer funded places. 15 hours and 30 hours available.
We are based in a modern, purpose built classroom in the Early Years section at Westerhope Primary School. We have a large outdoor play area with a wide range of equipment. We also have use of the school field, forest school area, and outdoor stage.
