Parks

Newcastle has a vast array of beautiful parks, denes, recreation grounds and countryside to explore, most are managed by Urban Green Newcastle.

3 parks offer large outdoor play areas whilst also being accessible for wheelchairs, buggies and mobility scooters.

Elswick Park offers:

  • Basketball courts that are free to play
  • Children's Playground
  • Cafe and toilets inside Elswick Community Leisure Centre

Exhibition Park offers:

  • Skate park
  • Two croquet lawns
  • Tennis courts that are free to play
  • Children's Playground
  • Cafe
  • Public toilets free to use at the Cafe

Walker Park offers:

  • The Urban Green Newcastle rangers run regular activities for families in the park including bug safaris, bird box building and kite making
  • Children's Playground
  • A dog-friendly café in the YMCA building in the heart of Walker Park
