Pathways 4 All is a parent-led charity, providing leisure services for children and young people with disabilities/ additional needs (0-25 years old). Our primary service is a specialist play and activity provision, the Tim Lamb Centre (in the grounds of the Rising Sun County Park, Benton). Our centre is open to families from across the North East region.
West End Women and Girls Centre is the first and only open access, community based women and girls centre in Newcastle, we aim to build the power of women and girls, who have been and continue to be disenfranchised. We seek to drive positive change in the world, our community and in women and girls lives.
We do this through group work where women and girls have the opportunity to meet, have fun, learn skills, look at issues relevant their lives and generally build confidence in a safe and supportive environment.
Areas of Work: Cancer, Carers, Complementary Therapies, Counselling, Palliative Care, Families, Auricular Acupuncture, Cancer Support Group, Advice and Guidance, Young person.
Get Connected are specialists who can help children and young people with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities get involved in activities.
They explore what the child/ young person is interested in and recommend organisations and activities that are suited to them.
They are a group of organisations who specialise in Arts and Sport.

Today, 10 children and young people in the UK will hear the shocking news that they have cancer.
Treatment normally starts immediately, is often given many miles from home and can last for up to three years. Being diagnosed with cancer is a frightening experience and the emotional, practical and financial implications of treatment are intensely challenging for the whole family.
Sporting Chance is a local community organisation. We aim to overcome some of the barriers young people may face and we strive to provide a holistic service to all our members.
The Alan Shearer Activity Centre is the only one of its kind in the North East offering free recreational, sensory and social facilities for disabled children and adults, their families, schools and groups.
To use our free facilities, you first need to become a member of the centre - which is also free - and you can join by downloading an application form from our websidewebsite: www.alanshearercentre.org.uk or by ringing the centre.
A travelling multi-sensory resource for children with disabilities, their families and friends. Activities include music, storytelling and creative play. Sensory Spaces appears at festivals and family events in the region.
Sensory Spaces was set up to address the needs of all children at local events and to encourage families to attend. The aim is to provide a safe, relaxing space where children can listen to music and stories, explore their creativity, dress up, play and have fun.

Provides dental care for pre-school children, school children, those with special needs, learning disabilities, medical problems or severe anxiety and any other clients who are unable to find a dentist.
Clinics are available at Arthur's Hill Clinic (check website), Kenton Health Centre, Molineux Street NHS Centre and Walker Centre. You can contact the service directly.

Young carers are children and young people under 18 who look after a family member because they have an illness, disability, mental health condition, or addiction to drugs or alcohol.
Journey Enterprises is a local north east charity which provides life-skills and employability training for young adult/adults with learning disabilities and autism. The Charity’s mission is to enable people with learning disability and autism to lead active, inclusive and fulfilling lives. Journey supports conditions such as Down’s Syndrome, Williams Syndrome, Sotos, Prader Willi ,Fragile X, Cerebral Palsy and autism. |
At any given time up to 40% of adults and 50% of children (this rises to 80% with a SEND diagnosis) have difficulties with their sleep.
Yet in a recent survey, almost 60% of adults felt there was a lack of support for sleep issues.
Sleep problems can leave people feeling isolated and lonely.
Our free helpline is run by trained sleep advisors, many of whom are specialists in working with SEND. We can talk to young people directly, or parents (we can also talk to adults, including older people, about their sleep issues).
Our vital service is available at no cost to families. Rainbow Trust is a charity, relying almost entirely on voluntary donations and the generosity of the public to deliver support.

The Twisting Ducks Theatre Company provides accessible opportunities for people with learning disabilities and autistic people to express themselves creatively, and to develop their skills, confidence, independence and social connections.
Our weekly Performing Arts and Music academies are for people with Learning disabilities and autistic people, aged 16 and over.

Our aim is to provide a specialised and trauma informed service that can be accessed by families or by individual young people.
Rise Above Wrestling is an inclusive Olympic-styled (freestyle, Greco-Roman, women’s) wrestling club located in the upper level of East End Pool in Byker, Newcastle upon Tyne affiliated with the national governing body for the sport, the British wrestling association. Kids, teens, women’s, beginners and advanced classes are available. Coaching staff with full credentials, first aid, CPR and AED training, enhanced DBS checks and safeguarding in place. Showers and changing rooms are on site.
