Northern Pride was formed in August 2007 after a brief gap in Pride activities following the closure of Pride on the Tyne. These results were fed back to the community in May 2007 and from this feedback, a group of volunteers came forward and formed the first Northern Pride Committee.

Youth Link Newcastle is for young people living with a disability or additional needs. It matches young people to a peer mentor. They can help with working towards a goal and overcoming challenges.
The service is available to young people living in a Newcastle Postcode, aged from 11 to 18.
Some examples of how a peer mentor could help you include:
A series of sector specific cohort events taking small groups of young people on a number of events exploring careers within their chosen sector of interest. Designed to give a higher number of meaningful employer encounters with a variety of employers within a specific industry, applicants will be required to commit to a number of event dates across each cohort group and we ask that students have a genuine interest within each area when expressing interest.
We will help you to build your confidence and equip you with the skills and knowledge expected by today’s employers. We work with multinational, UK and local employers in a wide range of industries to support you from Pre 16 into employment, apprenticeships and training. We deliver quality accredited programmes whilst gaining hands-on work experience, learning from skilled and supportive tutors with access to excellent facilities.

Three things that contribute to fuel poverty are: the cost of energy, the energy efficiency of your property and your household income.
At Byker Sands Family Hub we have packs containing items and information that will help you make positive changes in your home. These changes will make your home more energy efficient with the aim of reducing energy bills.
