Headliners (UK) has a 27-year track record of inspiring children and young people to investigate and challenge the world around them. We work across the UK providing personal development, multi-media journalism, participation and volunteering programmes. We have a dedicated team in the North East based out of our Newcastle office providing programmes of activities to young people all over the North East. |
Welcome to the website of Northumbria Army Cadet Force (ACF). The ACF is one of the UK's oldest, largest and most successful youth organisations. Sponsored by the Ministry of Defence it has a long and proud history of preparing young people to achieve the most out of their lives. Boys and and girls aged between 12 and 18 are eligible to join. They participate in a varied programme of military training which includes map reading and shooting, sport and adventurous activities including the Duke of Edinburgh's award scheme.
The Charity Patchwork was set up in order to help and educate young people between the ages of 8 and 25 years resident in the West End of Newcastle Upon Tyne and the surrounding area. This includes those who are involved in the Criminal Justice System or at risk of becoming involved in the Criminal Justice System, without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, race or political, religious or other opinion.
The Newcastle Careers and Guidance Team offers impartial and confidential careers information, advice and support to young people up to the age of 19 without an Education Health and Care Plan (EHC plan) if they live in Newcastle or attend a Newcastle school. (Please note, young people with an EHC plan are supported by their SEN caseworker)
ACANE exists to support the settlement of asylum seekers and refugees from the African continent, who have been dispersed to the North East region and Tyneside, in particular, and to actively promote their integration with the host community so that they can lead full and active lives, and participate in and contribute to the community on an equal basis.

Moneywise Credit Union is a financial co-operative which offers savings, loans and related services to members. Anyone who joins must be part of a "common bond", this means everyone who lives or works in the Tyne and Wear region. Credit unions are a "not for profit" organisation which means that any surplus made is reinvested into the business, any additional profit is used to pay a dividend to members.

Here at The Prince’s Trust, we offer various programmes aiming to get young people between the ages of 11 and 30 into education, training or employment. We do this by delivering programmes based around building confidence, employability and wellbeing skills. We offer work experience programmes as well as employment opportunities. For refugees living in the West End of Newcastle Practical help, advice and advocacy are provided through daily drop-in advice sessions, run by WERS’ multi-lingual support worker and trained volunteers.
WERS also offers home visits for those who find it difficult to visit WERS’ offices, a clothing store, where good quality second-hand clothing and household items are offered free of charge and a hardship fund, providing emergency payments to clients in extreme need. Emotional support is offered through the accredited befriending scheme

Money Matters is the specialist debt advice team within the Newcastle City Council's Active Inclusion Service. They offer debt and budgeting advice to people who live in Newcastle.

Live Well Learn Well provides one-to-one and small group coaching to young people. Our coaching enables young people to overcome barriers to learning, and helps them to develop the confidence and motivation they need to succeed in school.
We work with young people who struggle with a range of issues, including low self-esteem, anxiety, poor body image, and exam stress.
We also coach adults who work in education, with a focus on stress management and preventing burnout.

Beacon Films CIC is a multi-award winning training and production organisation for filmmakers with learning disabilities, autism and additional needs.
For young people (aged 6 - 19) with no experience of filmmaking, Beacon Films runs a BFI Film Academy from November - February each year, during which young people learn all about filmmaking by creating and starring in their own short film. Places are FREE but limited, so contact us early to avoid disappointment!
Fair For You offers an affordable alternative to weekly payment stores. They provide low cost loans for new branded white goods, furniture such as beds, mattresses, sofas and sofa beds, pushchairs and prams at fair prices for low income households. Unlike other weekly payment stores, Fair For You do not penalise customers who choose to repay their loan early or charge expensive missed payment fees. This is YHN's Young People's Service: Homelessness Prevention and Floating Support Team.
The Floating Support team provides structured support to young people aged 16 to 25 years to enable them to successfully manage a tenancy. We work in partnership with agencies across the city including health, social care and education. Everyone has a support plan that is regularly monitored and reviewed to ensure any change in needs are identified and met.
Our focus is on preparing young people aged 14-19 for the world of work. We achieve this using our state of the art learning facilities in the heart of the West End of the city.
