The Newcastle Careers and Guidance Team offers impartial and confidential careers information, advice and support to young people up to the age of 19 without an Education Health and Care Plan (EHC plan) if they live in Newcastle or attend a Newcastle school. (Please note, young people with an EHC plan are supported by their SEN caseworker)
JET is a registered charity who work in and around Tyne & Wear to support those with English as a second language and from an ethnic background. The Barnardo’s Wellness Recovery Project offers free, person-centred 1-2-1 counselling for women and children (including families) across Northumbria who have been victims of, and witnessed, domestic abuse. The project is based in Jesmond at the Barnardo’s Orchard Mosaic offices but we also offer outreach support in schools and the local community where appropriate.
Referrals for counselling can be made by any professionals and self-referrals are also accepted.
Northumbria Victim & Witness Service is dedicated to helping people affected by crime in Tyne & Wear and Northumberland.
At Northumbria Victim & Witness Service we provide victims and witnesses with support after crime, regardless of who they are and their circumstances. A free and confidential dog fostering service for people fleeing domestic abuse and going into refuge or other emergency accommodation.
Open to anyone who has experienced anti-LGBTQIA+ violence or harassment and needs a safe space to talk. The helpline is run by LGBTQIA+ people and is completely confidential. It is operated by Galop, the LGBTQIA+ anti-violence charity supporting people facing hate crime, domestic abuse and sexual violence.

The Northumbria SARC offers free support and practical help to anyone in Northumbria who has experienced sexual violence and/or sexual abuse.
We are here to help regardless of when the event happened.

SomeOne Cares is a counselling service with an Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) who can provide emotional and practical support to meet the needs of anyone aged 11+ who has experienced sexual violence at any time in their life whether they have reported this to the police or not. The ISVA can also support anyone who is thinking of reporting an offence to the police and would like impartial information around this.
We work in lots of different ways to help women through the law.
There are a number of advice lines providing women with free, confidential legal advice on a range of issues including domestic abuse, family breakdown, arrangements for children, rape and sexual assault, harassment and stalking and immigration. Support for adult victims of intimate image and video abuse. They can provide advice, guidance and support to remove intimate content which has been non-consensually shared online.
Counselling service for children and young people aged 4-16 years who have been affected by domestic abuse. The service supports the emotional health and wellbeing of children who have experienced domestic abuse and who are displaying related signs of trauma. As well as the one-to-one counselling sessions, support and guidance will be offered to the non-abusing parent / primary carer so they can support their child’s needs.
A therapeutic service which aims to reduce the impact of abusive or traumatic experiences on children, young people and families. The Wellness Recovery Project delivers 1-2-1 counselling and therapeutic support for women, children and young people who have been witness to and victims of domestic abuse and sexual violence, or who may have suffered from bereavement and loss.
