This summer with HYPE at EMTEP, we’re bringing you loads of exciting activities that you like. It’s all about having fun, doing what you enjoy, meeting and making new friends, learning new things, and feeling proud of who you are.
There's something for you to try, enjoy and have fun! Together we’ll explore what makes you you, help you grow confidence, provide you new ideas, skills and passions.


Take part in design and build challenges and meet other gamers at the Farrell Centre’s own Minecraft club.
This club will use Minecraft to explore architecture, design and city planning. Gamers and parents can share their creations.

The Lighthouse Project arose from our passion for working with young people on the Byker Estate and the frustration with the lack of purpose-built facilities in the area to support this work. Our mission was to create an inspiring youth and community space in the heart of Byker that will support quality youth and community engagement and have a lasting impact on the community of Byker for many years to come.

Geordie Mums is a self-advocacy, social and supportive group for Mums with a learning disability and autistic Mums.
The group meets once a month, on a Wednesday morning.

This Facebook group is for local parents of disabled children and young people. Once you join you can ask other parents about problems you are having and where to get help and share your experiences with one another.

The Incredible Years® evidence based parenting programs focus on strengthening parenting competencies and fostering parent involvement in children’s school experiences, to promote children’s academic, social and emotional skills and reduce conduct problems. The parenting programs are grouped according to age: babies (0-12 months), toddlers (1-3 years) and preschoolers (3-6 years)

NAPI provides a support service for all parent and toddler groups across the city. To do this, support workers visit on a regular basis, newsletters are circulated termly and resources are provided.
The organisation supports local parents to set up groups in their own area.
A citywide list of parent and toddler groups is continually updated and made available to the Newcastle Support Directory, parents and professionals involved in signposting parents to groups.
