Teen Life Programme

Teen Life Programme

The Teen Life programme is licensed by the National Autistic Society.  It is for parents and carers of young people, aged 10 to 16, who have a diagnosis of autism or who are on a diagnostic pathway.

Each family may also invite a supporting professional (such as a teacher, teaching assistant or family support worker) along to the sessions.

Teen Life aims to empower parents, carers and professionals to understand more about how autism is experienced by autistic teenagers. The Teen Life programme runs over a 6 week period, with sessions lasting around two and a half hours. The sessions are usually held at the Civic Centre in Newcastle.

Applications are welcome from parents and carers of autistic young people, who live in Newcastle or who attend an educational setting in Newcastle.

The Teen Life programme in Newcastle is run by Dr Ruth Prested and Dr Samantha McKeown, who are both Teen Life Licensed Users.
