This service is available to all service users within inpatient care. The department has a fully equipped gym within the Hadrian Clinic as well as providing various community groups including walking, football, badminton, cycling, circuit training, swimming, health lifestyle and weight management.
The aim of the service is to provide therapeutic exercise to improve mental illness and prevent/treat some of the physical side effects associated with antipsychotic medication.
Lowry is an acute admission ward based at Hadrian Clinic, Campus for Ageing and Vitality in Newcastle upon Tyne. Lowry has 16 beds providing assessment and treatment by a multi disciplinary team. They will support you to develop new skills to manage your mental health. During your stay you will be offered the following treatments and therapies:
β’ Occupational therapy β helps with individual or group activities and daily living skills
β’ Physiotherapy β help with mobility or movement problems or by providing access to gym facilities

Lamesley is an acute admission ward based at the Hadrian Clinic, Campus for Ageing and Vitality in Newcastle upon Tyne. Lamesley has 18 beds providing assessment and treatment by a multi disciplinary team. They will support you to develop new skills to manage your mental health. Fellside is an acute admission ward based at the Hadrian Clinic, Campus for Ageing and Vitality in Newcastle upon Tyne. Fellside has 20 beds providing assessment and treatment by a multi disciplinary team. They will support you to develop new skills to manage your mental health. During your stay you will be offered the following treatments and therapies:

The Newcastle Community Team for Learning Disabilities is based at Benton House in Newcastle.
The Adult team provides specialist assessment and treatment to people aged 18 years and over with a learning disability and additional health needs, where the personβs needs are complex and require an integrated approach to care and treatment that cannot be met through mainstream services.
What we do
We produce evidence-based short films and factsheets to help teachers, parents, carers and others working with children to help recognise any potential mental health issues in Primary School aged children. These are freely available on our website Nip in the Bud.
We believe passionately that early intervention reduces the risk of these issues becoming more serious in later years.
The Regional Disability Team, based at Walkergate Park in Newcastle, is a specialised, multidisciplinary rehabilitation team for people with long term, complex, neurological conditions. The service provides assessment, treatment, information, advice and support to individuals and their families and carers.
