Pathways 4 All is a parent-led charity, providing leisure services for children and young people with disabilities/ additional needs (0-25 years old). Our primary service is a specialist play and activity provision, the Tim Lamb Centre (in the grounds of the Rising Sun County Park, Benton). Our centre is open to families from across the North East region.

Molehill Mountain is an app to help autistic people understand and self-manage anxiety.

It was developed by Autistica and King's College London.  Adults with autism were consulted throughout the development of the app.

Public Health School Nurses provide a range of health improvement and health promotion activities including confidential health advice for children and young people, an immunisation programme and assistance to school staff in the delivery of PHSE (personal health and social education). 

Every school in Newcastle has access to a School Nurse.  School Nurses also provide information, advice and support on a range of health issues including:

The Charity Patchwork was set up in order to help and educate young people between the ages of 8 and 25 years resident in the West End of Newcastle Upon Tyne and the surrounding area. This includes those who are involved in the Criminal Justice System or at risk of becoming involved in the Criminal Justice System,  without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, race or political, religious or other opinion.

Tyneside Women’s Health was established in 1985 with the key aim of helping women to improve their mental health and emotional wellbeing.  

Tyneside Women’s Health offers a range of interventions for women including drop in sessions, support groups, mental health courses, counselling, and various therapeutic activities such as relaxation.  We have also introduced a range of online and virtual support services. Cruse Bereavement Care (CRUSE) is a national charity committed to promoting the well-being of bereaved people.  The organisation aims to help anyone bereaved by death to understand their grief and cope with their loss.  It covers England, Wales and Northern Ireland (Cruse - Scotland is a separate organisation). 

Here at The King’s Trust, we offer various programmes aiming to get young people between the ages of 11 and 30 into education, training or employment. We do this by delivering programmes based around building confidence, employability and wellbeing skills. We offer work experience programmes as well as employment opportunities. We also have free funding and build your own business programmes. Wherever you’re at in your journey to getting into education or employment, we’re here to listen and we’re here to help!

Family Fund supports families living across the UK who are who are raising a disabled or seriously ill child or young person up to the age of 17. Our support is focused on those on low incomes with a child/children who have a high level of additional support needs.

At Family Fund, we believe that all families raising disabled or seriously ill children and young people should have the same choices, quality of life, opportunities and aspirations as other families.

Nystagmus Network is a charity that helps people with nystagmus, a condition where the eyes move uncontrollably. They offer many services to support families and children with nystagmus.

Today, 10 children and young people in the UK will hear the shocking news that they have cancer.

Treatment normally starts immediately, is often given many miles from home and can last for up to three years. Being diagnosed with cancer is a frightening experience and the emotional, practical and financial implications of treatment are intensely challenging for the whole family.

We aim to raise awareness and make sure D/deaf, Deafblind and Hard of Hearing people have access to information and services in the same way as hearing people.  We provide information and signposting for deaf-related services. 

Deaflink has developed as an organisation with the principles of inclusion and empowerment, trying to bring people and agencies in partnership to understand better the needs and issues of D/deaf, Deafblind and Hard of Hearing people.

Retina UK is the national charity for families living with inherited retinal dystrophies. We fund research and provide information and support to those affected by inherited sight loss and the professionals who support them.

We support anyone with the following visual impairments: Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP), Rod Cone dystrophy, Cone Rod dystrophy, Choroideremia, Leber congenital amaurosis (LCA), Bardet-Biedl syndrome (BBS), Usher syndrome, Stargardt disease.

We are an independent and charitable organisation which exists to meet the needs and promote the interests of asylum seekers and refugees who have arrived or have settled in the North of England.

Treloar School and College offers physically disabled children and young people a specialist environment where education and learning take place alongside therapy and care.  Treloar’s offers day and residential placements, aged 2 to 25 years.  Each student is supported by a multi-disciplinary team of professionals on-site.

The Toby Henderson Trust (TTHT) is an independently funded charity supporting autistic children, their families and carers.  After 15 years at Whitehouse Farm the trust has recently moved to Toby House, Earth Balance, Bedlington, Northumberland.

The Autism Education Trust (AET) was set up in part by the National Autistic Society. Recognised by the Department of Education, it provides high quality training to schools and educational settings.

From September 2020 Newcastle City Council is an Autism Education Trust (AET) Training Hub.

EDNE aims to help people in Tyneside, Wearside, Northumberland and County Durham whose lives are affected by eating distress, or eating disorders. We do this by providing a range of services including individual counselling, mindfulness courses, a support group for carers, health topic workshops, information and training. We also work in schools and other settings to increase knowledge and awareness of eating distress and its effects.

Young Epilepsy is a national charity that supports the 112,000 children and young people under 25 with epilepsy in the UK.
