Pathways 4 All is a parent-led charity, providing leisure services for children and young people with disabilities/ additional needs (0-25 years old). Our primary service is a specialist play and activity provision, the Tim Lamb Centre (in the grounds of the Rising Sun County Park, Benton). Our centre is open to families from across the North East region.

Hadrian is a school for primary aged children with a wide range of additional needs including complex, profound and multiple learning disabilities, severe and moderate learning difficulties, speech and language needs, physical, perceptual and sensory needs. We help all our children overcome their personal difficulties through highly trained and expert specialist teaching, through our amazing therapeutic curriculum and resources and our partnership work with parents/carers and health professionals.

Molehill Mountain is the first evidence-led smartphone app aiming to help autistic adults understand and self-manage their anxiety. The app has been developed by Autistica and researchers at King’s College London with input from autistic people and funding from Maudsley Charity and The Worshipful Company of Information Technologists.

Free, safe, confidential support for young people

Children and young people in Newcastle and Gateshead can now get help from mental health counsellors using a free online service supported by the NHS.

Kooth.com is an award-winning online counselling and support service which is now available to all young people in Newcastle and Gateshead aged 11-18 years.

We will nurture each child through their individual learning journey, to develop tolerance, resilience and a thirst for knowledge which will prepare them for the wider world.

What is the service?

NHS England has developed an in school eyecare service for all children in special schools across England.

The service will enable every child to get the most from their vision, including sight test, and the dispensing and fitting of glasses – all completed on the school premises.

The Visual Impairment Additionally Resourced Provision (VIARP) for severely sight impaired (SSI) and sight impaired (SI) pupils is centrally funded by Newcastle City Council. Some of the pupils from neighbouring local authorities can also be placed in the VIARP.

The VIARP is staffed by one Qualified Teacher of Visual Impairment and two specialist Learning Support Assistants.

It is a fully inclusive provision and pupils with VI are included within mainstream classes with support from VIARP staff. This support includes -

Connecting Worlds autism training is based in the North East of England but covers all of the UK, offering face to face training to meet all training needs.

I have real-life experience to share, having a son with severe autism, a husband with high functioning autism and 20 years' experience working with children and adults with autism and related conditions. I worked for 15 years for a Local Authority as part of a specialist disabilities team, working alongside Speech and Language Therapists and Educational Psychologists. I am a qualified teacher/trainer.

The service is an abstinent based supported housing service and national drug treatment organisation and we offer abstinence based accommodation in Tyneside for those in recovery for substance misuse. Our Supported Housing is delivered in partnership with local housing providers and offers people with substance misuse issues a structured package of support. There are 2 semi-independent houses in Tyneside with a total of 18 beds. The sites are staffed during the day and offered a tailored package of one-to-one care and group work.

Welcome to the website of Northumbria Army Cadet Force (ACF). The ACF is one of the UK's oldest, largest and most successful youth organisations. Sponsored by the Ministry of Defence it has a long and proud history of preparing young people to achieve the most out of their lives. Boys and and girls aged between 12 and 18 are eligible to join. They participate in a varied programme of military training which includes map reading and shooting, sport and adventurous activities including the Duke of Edinburgh's award scheme.

The Charity Patchwork was set up in order to help and educate young people between the ages of 8 and 25 years resident in the West End of Newcastle Upon Tyne and the surrounding area. This includes those who are involved in the Criminal Justice System or at risk of becoming involved in the Criminal Justice System,  without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, race or political, religious or other opinion.

The Newcastle Careers and Guidance Team offers impartial and confidential careers information, advice and support to young people up to the age of 19 without an Education Health and Care Plan (EHC plan) if they live in Newcastle or attend a Newcastle school.  (Please note, young people with an EHC plan are supported by their SEN caseworker)

West End Women and Girls Centre is the first and only open access, community based women and girls centre in Newcastle, we aim to build the power of women and girls, who have been and continue to be disenfranchised.
