Newcastle City Learning
Free level 3 courses.
Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator) programme which is delivered in a different format to an apprenticeship/upskilling opportunity. Each learner is assigned a course tutor with access to online learning. They will be required to attend college once a month for the duration of the programme.
Apprenticeship/Upskilling Standards
Early Years Practitioner level 2
Early Years Educator level 3
Teaching Assistant level 3
Team Leader level 3
Operational/Departmental Manager level 5
Business Administrator level 3
Team Leader or Supervisor level 3
All of the above programmes can be delivered as a new apprenticeship opportunity. Or as an upskilling programme for someone who is already in their job role. These programmes are delivered through the Apprenticeship Levy. For further information, please contact Andrea Sattherthwaite on 0191 277 3506 or 07977 589530 or email on Andrea.Satterthwaite@newcastle.gov.uk
These programmes include ‘Off the Job’ hours of 6 hours per week. This means that the staff member will, within their working week, spend 6 hours of their time focussed on their apprenticeship. Once a month they will be required to attend face to face teaching at Westgate College. This is part of their off the job hours.
English and maths are a requirement of an apprenticeship, with the staff member holding a grade C/4 or above in each subject. If they don’t have these qualifications and their certificates, we can offer these programmes as part of the training and this also has to be delivered within their working week.
